Who is Han Jisung?
also known as HAN or J.ONE, one of two main rappers of k-pop group Stray Kids! he's also a brilliant vocalist, dancer, producer, and songwriter, earning himself the title "ace of 4th gen". in the survival show which formed the group, he was one of four contestants never at risk of elimination. he joined JYP in 2015, making him the second Stray Kid, and formed their producing trio the next year alongside Chan and Changbin. since then, he's been credited in over 170 songs, and is the youngest k-pop idol awarded membership of KOMCA.
What does he mean to me?
let me firstly be clear about something, which is that i don't have any romantic delusions or interest in Han. the group means a lot to me as a whole, but Han is someone i particularly identify with through his complexities, and whom i really respect and admire. i am starkly against obsessive and parasocial behaviours, and although i know the k-pop industry fuels and is heavily reliant on this, i believe there are ethical ways to engage with the artist and their content without falling prey to this scheme. though i make no claims to know Han, i find him incredibly interesting to try and understand, through both the genius of his art and the sides of himself he shows to fans. i particularly appreciate his duality in regards to typically masculine and feminine traits, such as in his style and mannerisms. his talent in all parts of performing makes him easily entertaining both to watch and listen to, though this is true of the group as a whole- i really do love Stray Kids' music. i got into kpop some time around 2020, but only became properly invested around 2023. i've listened to other groups, stanned them, bought their albums and watched their shows, but none of them have stuck for me like Stray Kids have, and indeed they're the only group i keep up with. in part this is obviously because of Han being my ult bias, but also because of how much i love the group as a whole: each member contributes something completely unique to the music and dynamics, and they're not afraid to explore new directions and concepts, consistently placing them at the top of the charts. in large part this is thanks to the hard work of 3RACHA, the trio of members that has been producing Stray Kids' music since pre-debut, and which Han is an integral part of. also noteworthy is his relationship with Lee Know, which is... unlabelled... but often on the border between friendly and flirty, another factor i "try to understand"... these two, alongside Chan and I.N, make up my bias line, but J.ONE forever has a special place in my heart, my diva, my lucky charm ❤︎
